Real Women, Real Lives – Behind the Scenes

When I received the disc from photographer Irma Bosch for the ‘Real Women, Real Lives’ photo shoot, I was amazed at the out come! With a whopping 10 women to co-ordinate and style (the biggest shoot I have ever done to date), I really could not have asked for a better result. Here is some insight into how the day panned out.

At 9am the ladies got to meet each other and enjoy a snack or two.

Three by three the ladies had their hair and make-up done by Kim Winterscale, Lindsey Swart or Irene Scholtz.

Yes, all that make-up can be found in their make-up kits!

While hair and make-up was being done, some serious creative direction was being discussed on how and what should be placed where.
Our writers Tracy Essers, Julia Mafcher and Svenja Gernoth found the time to take a quick bonding snapshot.

And Julia also tried on a fabulous pair of nude heels from Rage – which she bought after the shoot.
Once hair and make-up was done, it was my turn to dress and direct the ladies on what pose and position would work best.

During the individual photographs, testing the lights is essential!
In between each lady’s close-up, I jotted down the garments used in each shot for the final credits.

Towards the end, the group shot was next – thanks to Julia and Svenja for being the test models.

The beautiful shoes from Spitz and Rage are placed in position for the ladies to put on just before the final shot.

All the ladies are dressed and ready for their group shot.

Final Touches are done.

The amazing finale!

And after all is done, the mammoth task of packing up drew to a close a very successful photo shoot.
